THIS BLOG HAS MOVED

Hello everyone! I'm trying to figure out how to write this post eloquently, so here it goes.

I haven't been into blogging on The Leather Look very much lately (you may have seen). I've been struggling with what I want to blog about for a while now, but I'm happy to say that I think I've figured it out.

I've created a new blog, focusing on interior design, called Boa Ouvert. I'm very happy over there, and I would really appreciate if you check it out and give it a follow (I have a Tumblr, Pinterest and Bloglovin). There are some things I still need to tidy up with it, and I'm experimenting with posts, but I'm happy. I created the tumblr several months ago and have really enjoyed having the freedom to post what I really love - no expectations.

This blog will stay active for now, and who knows I might come back to it in the future, but for now I will be blogging on Boa Ouvert. I will hopefully transition some of my favorite posts onto there in time for Fashion and Lifestyle sections.

I hope you enjoy :)

Robert Doisneau

Robert Doisneau

Vincent Van Gogh is my favorite artist, but Robert Doisneau is by far my favorite photographer. He captured whimsical, fleeting moments found in everyday Parisian life that no one would ever see because they're so focused on themselves. If you just stop and look around, like Doisneau, one would see so much beauty in the world.

Indie

For as long as I can remember, I've loved discovering new music and artists that no one has ever heard of so I can share it with them. Here is a little playlist of some of my favorite songs to listen to at the moment while studying, driving my car, hanging out with friends or just because :)

Vincent Van Gogh

Vincent Van Gogh

Van Gogh ate yellow paint because he thought it would put happiness inside of him. I think about that whenever I'm sad. He is probably my favorite artist of all time, so I would like to share some of my favorite paintings of his with you.

(saw this in person and almost died... probably my favorite painting of his)

(also saw this in person... the application of his paint makes his work somewhat three dimensional)

Madrid

Madrid, Spain

I'm so excited that I'm able to travel this year, more than I ever could have imagined! I'm heading over to Madrid, Spain next month for a couple days before heading to the south of France. I don't speak any Spanish, so I at least want to be knowledgable about the city a little bit and read up about what I'm visiting.

Style (and life) Crush: Amal Alamuddin

George Clooney married Amal Almuddin this year. Amal is a human rights lawyer who worked on the Enron case; was an adviser to Kofi Annan regarding Syria; and was selected for a three-person U.N. commission investigating rules of war violations in the Gaza Strip. So tonight… her husband is getting a lifetime achievement award.
- Tina Fey, 2015 Golden Globes

As soon as I heard Tina Fey say these words during her and Amy Poehler's monologue during the Golden Globes on Sunday, I stood up and clapped. I'm not joking.

So many people see Amal Alamuddin as the wife of George Clooney, but she is so much more than that. She is a successful, intelligent, beautiful individual who has done so much more in her life than many of us ever will. Not only is her success as a woman inspiring me to pursue my dreams, but her style is to die for! Here are some of her best fashionable moments as I've seen her thus far.

French Impressionism

French Impressionism

In my AP French class, we are studying French art history. I picked the 19th century impressionists as my focus. With a mom as an art history major, I was raised reading books about Pierre Auguste Renoir and took countless trips to art museums in NYC, Boston and DC. I always loved Degas and Monet, and I loved researching their work for my little presentation. Here are some of my favorite paintings that are inspiring me at the moment!
